Portland International Airport (PDX) is the closest airport, located about 1 hour 45 minutes east of Netarts by car.
To the beach
The drive from Portland to Netarts follows the Wilson River Highway, which is a beautiful stretch of road through old growth forests, passing over the Coastal Range.
The road is winding and may be rough in some areas. Cell service is very limited outside of the Portland metro area, so we recommend having your GPS instructions available offline. Consider making the drive during daylight hours.
Driving directions
From downtown Portland
Find your way to US-26 W towards Beaverton. Continue on US-26 W for 21 miles.
Take a slight left onto OR-6 W towards Banks/Tillamook. You will take this highway over the coast range to Tillamook, 49 miles. Use caution as there are some rough areas of road and very limited cell service.
Turn left on Main Avenue through downtown Tillamook. After 2 blocks, turn right on Third Street to Hwy 131 towards Oceanside & Netarts. Follow this highway for 7 miles through the cow pastures and the little town of Netarts.
On the left, you will see a colorful sign with palm trees for Happy Camp Hideaway (Happy Camp Rd). 865 Happy Camp Rd is on the left (waterfront) about halfway down the road (the only home with a round roof).
